Music For All: Hall of Fame
Michael Kumer is the Executive Director of Duquesne University's Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NLI) and Associate Dean of the University's School of Leadership and Professional Advancement.

Since assuming the directorship of the NLI, Michael has produced training programs and consulted frequently in the topical field of nonprofit governance. These programs have enjoyed a cumulative enrollment of thousands of individuals representing more than 500 nonprofit organizations.

Michael accumulated a vast wealth of experience as a board or advisory board member of several regional and national nonprofit organizations, including Bands of America and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He is a past Chair of the boards of the Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society and the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, and a past board Vice-Chair of the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh.

Prior to joining the Nonprofit Leadership Institute, Michael served Duquesne University's Mary Pappert School of Music as its Dean. During that period, the School launched new and innovative programs, recruited world-class faculty and students, and was widely acknowledged for making music education advocacy an integral part of the curriculum.
