Bands of America Honor Band in the Rose Parade®

Congratulations on your child's selection for membership in the 2009 Bands of America Honor Band performing at the 120th Rose Parade themed Hats Off To Entertainment! With the combined talent level of your child, along with 300 other young adults, we will provide entertainment and spread the word about the importance of music in the lives of our young people to millions along the parade route and throughout the world on TV! We extend a special invitation to YOU and your extended family to join us and share in the pride and exhilaration of a "once in a life-time experience"!

As promised, please find information about Family and Fans travel packages and opportunities. All of the information you need to consider is enclosed in this packet. Please read it carefully, as there are important documents, forms and deadlines that need your consideration and attention.



We have a limited number of chaperone openings still available! Chaperones must be adults and available on a 24 hours a day basis during the entire experience. Chaperones will receive the same experience as Honor Band members, and pay a reduced rate for double occupancy housing and meals. Please see the enclosed Chaperone Application and related information. Chaperone Applications must be returned by the NEW deadline date of June 11th.


Two (2) travel options are included, a seven (7) night package that mirrors your child's experience (beginning Saturday, December 27) and a five (5) night package (beginning on Monday, December 29). In both cases, the hotel accommodation is the Hyatt Regency Anaheim Orange County, Garden Grove, near Disney's Anaheim Resort and not near where the band will be housed. This was an intentional decision that will allow the band to focus and prepare without distraction while allowing you, your family and guests to enjoy and be near and convenient to some of the best of California's family attractions and experiences. To reiterate: to receive all the benefits and opportunities of the Honor Band's Tournament of Roses experience, you MUST purchase a BOA Family and Fan Package. Bands of America's block of parade tickets is located at 414 West Colorado at the corner of Orange Grove and Colorado Boulevards in the center of the telecast zone. These tickets are reserved and allocated to Family and Fan Package purchasers and Honor Band chaperones. Please refer to the enclosed itineraries.

Please be aware that the Family and Fan Agreement along with an initial deposit of $50 is due by June 26. Submitting the agreement and deposit by June 26 will ensure that you have been counted in our Parade seating ticket block. If you have any questions, please call Music for All at 800.848.2263. Please complete and mail or fax the enclosed agreement to Music for All.


Travel to and from California, as well as transportation between the airport and the Hyatt is on your own and is not part of the Family and Fan Package. While Music for All does NOT arrange Family and Fan transportation between the hotel/airport, we have included a list of area airports and transportation options for your convenience. We encourage you to book early, using travel agencies, on-line services or directly with airlines serving LAX.

As a reminder, we strongly recommend that Honor Band student participants use Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), as Music for All will only provide greeters and ground transfers to the student hotel from LAX.



Yes! You will see a lot of your child in California. The Family and Fan package will include a trip to the Honor Band's Dress Rehearsal on Monday evening, December 29, (you must arrive at the Family and Fan hotel by 5PM), to BandFest for the Honor Band's field show performance, to the Disney's California Adventure performance, to the New Year's Night Dinner and Dance Party (held on the night of January 1st), and a Disneyland experience with the Band on January 2nd.

You will receive a final itinerary with scheduled dates and times for all events in the fall. For a general daily overview of included activities please refer to the enclosed itineraries.


Major benefits of the Family and Fan Packages are access to our very knowledgeable travel partner staff and the assurance of organized travel and handling of the major experiences in California. Travel Partner staff will be onsite at the hotel at all times to assist and help you with planning and arrangements for other Southern California experiences that you choose to do on your own. While you could certainly plan your own trip to California, it is only by choosing a Family and Fan package that you can become fully part of the Honor Band experience!


Parade tickets for persons who elect not to purchase a BOA Family and Fan Package can be obtained on your own from the Tournament of Roses official seating vendor, Sharp Seating Company, 626.795.4171. Unfortunately, these tickets will NOT be in our Honor Band Block. Tickets for the Honor Band's New Year's evening celebration (after the Parade on January 1) will be made available for separate purchase at a rate of $70 per person or $125 per couple. Separate housing or meal purchases will not be offered as options. To be part of the Family and Fan Package, you must select the five or seven night option.

Music for All has taken on the Honor Band project for two primary reasons Ð to continue to deliver on our commitment to provide "positively life-changing experiences" and to show the public on a world-class stage the results that music education and involvement in band can produce. We believe the Honor Band's Rose Parade experience will be life-changing for each of the student participants and an incredible opportunity for families to create positive memories that will last a lifetime.
